Doris Kathryn Moye
September 10,1930 - May 29, 2026

Our beloved mother, Doris Moye, passed away peacefully at Beth Haven in Ripon , CA. on May 29, 2026. She was born on September 10, 1930 in Patterson, CA. and lived her childhood and early adult years on the west side. She attended Northmead Elementary and Patterson High Schools. She was active in many sports, cheerleading, band, and several service clubs. Doris raised four boys which kept her extremely busy. She worked for Hammets dress shop in Modesto, was a teacher's assistant at Sherwood Elementary in Modesto and later a florist in Atascadero CA. But her main job was always a "mom" and wife. Doris married Charles Moye who was an assistant warden for the California prisons. His job took Doris and family to several different locations, including Jamestown, Sonora, Bakersfield, Modesto, Atascadero and finally Oakdale, CA. She welcomed each move and quickly made new and lasting friends. Doris' life was focused around family. She was the center of holidays and events and attended hundreds of sporting events from football, basketball, baseball, volleyball, or anything her children and grandchildren were involved in. She was mostly found in her kitchen, cooking up meals for a neighbor, friend or the family. She was truly an example of a generous and loving mother. She is survived by her two sons, Jeffrey Moye (Mary Sue) and Steven Moye (Cathy): grandchildren Christina Martin, Matthew Moye (Adrian), Kathryn Dennis (Benjamin), Justin Moye (Danielle), John Moye, Chelsea Zeppa (Peter) and Dean Moye: and 14 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Moye, two sons Gerald Martin and Thomas Moye (Donna), parents Max and Minnie Brunoni, and sisters Maxine Kolding (Ray) and Clara Johnson (Leonard). Funeral services are being handled by Oakdale-Riverbank Memorial Chapel on West F Street Oakdale,Ca. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church on Monday, June 15 at 10:00 am. A rosary will be recited before the Mass at 9:30. Remembrances may be made to The Sisters of the Cross Convent, 1320 Maze Blvd, Modesto CA. or charity of your choice.
